In December one year 46 people with OM Costa Rica collected 500 gifts to give the indigenous children who live in a place called Talamanca.
Festival of Smiles (Festival de Sonrisas)
It took one whole day of travelling for the team to reach the indigenous tribe. They took a few horses on the trip, and at one point they walked for four hours carrying the gifts to reach the children.

When the team arrived the children were excited to see them, although they were also very shy. Some of the team dressed up as clowns and mimes and performed dramas and sang songs with them.
Festival of Smiles (Festival de Sonrisas)
There was even a piñata with candy for the children to play with. The theme for the day was, "The most important gift in the world," and the team shared about God's love for them.

The children and their parents listened to the stories and had big smiles on their faces. OM hopes that they can build strong friendship with these people so that they can continue to share God's love with them. The team is excited to go again this year and meet more people.

The children loved their presents. They will be a reminder of the great day they had at the Festival of Smiles.
