Four-year-old Sabir lives with his dad, Ram, and his two brothers. (His mum died when he was a baby.) Ram doesn’t make much money so he was thrilled when the new Dalit school opened and his sons could go to school for free!
Today, Sabir is one of the best students in his class and his dad is very proud.

are all brothers and sisters from the same family! They go to school, but because they are so poor sometimes they can’t bring any lunch. The school makes sure they don’t go hungry – the children all get given milk and eggs every day.

Praveen is the youngest in his family. His dad died 2 years ago so he, his mum and his 2 brothers live with his grandfather who is a policeman.

He goes to school every day and works hard. He really enjoys it! The teachers at Praveen’s school are also helping his mum to learn new skills so that she can find a job too.
